Elder's Meditation of the Day May 1
The sun is an important part of our existence, Without it our food sources could not grow, our water would not have safe bacteria, our air quality would diminish greatly due to molds and unsafe bacterias, or it would become very cold and desolate as if the earth went into hibernation. The earth definitely needs the sun to survive. Our relationship is shown by our worship to the sun and the suns relationship to us. The Sun is not Creator but Creator is a part of the Sun as with us because we all are relying on each other in the great hoop. When one falls away the hoop weakens. What am I doing to strengthen the hoop?

When you relax and let your mind rest you can get rid of a lot of negative garbage. Some people call this meditating others refer to it as releasing the bad spirits. Think only about all the good things others do or have done and try to forget about the wrongs and you will see that most likely the good does out weigh the bad. Give more than you choose to take.

Think about how many people are afraid of dying. Are You? If a person walks with Creator and a good Spiritual path then the chances are the fear lessens. I remember My Grand Mother in her passing telling us about her Mother, Father and family being in the room to get her. My Mother spoke of the same and both died in a peaceful state of mind. In my days I have seen many people die and very few had trouble letting go. Some were instant death and others were drawn out episodes to prepare families for a loss. This is Creators and the Spirit Worlds way of doing things. Kind of like a work shift" When the shift is done we punch out and go home where we came from".

The prophecies spoken by the old ones a long time ago are now coming forth. Many families now are of mixed blood some refer to themselves as Metis, sadly others have walked away from the heritage because of being forced to denounce their heritage for the churches,and hence many of our ways were lost. Alcohol and drug addiction took and continually takes a toll also. But if we really take a look at the seriousness of it all, We will see that we must come together to fulfill the prophecies as we have been directed. No human being has special blood above all others because everyone bleeds the same color and everyone is a child of Creator.So who is entitled to rule over any human?" NO ONE!"

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 6
As we progress in our drinking and drugging we become more insane and things we do make no sense at all. Our rational way of thinking is gone and just like a rabid animal we will tear up anything in our path. We need to come to a realization that we are with a problem and then we must take steps to solve the problem. Judges tried with jail terms, family and friends tried by ignoring us but nothing happened. We had to learn to look to a higher Spiritual plane than the one we were on. We called out to Creator and asked for help. Then we learned to re smudge ourselves daily with prayer just like new born baby learning to walk. The time had finally come for us to face reality.

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 7
When we get wood for sacred sweat lodge do we cut down new trees? I usually have friends who see tree companies cutting trees down and throw them in a dump. The friends ask for the wood and it is used for our ceremonies. Why cut a new tree when there are many available from the cuttings that Electric companies city utilities do. This is one way of helping to preserve our earth. Look at the cigarette butts along the curbing at any stop light! Look at trash along side of all the roads. Very few places have not been touched by people who toss their trash anywhere they please.The only animals that defecate in their own bed are newborns and they are supposed to be taught different as they grow. Some humans are worse than the animals.

When we open our hearts to ceremony we open our door to the universe. We are open to all knowledge and learning, all respects and disrespects, all positive and negative, and everything contributes to the powerful energy in this universe, With the most powerful of all being Creator. He sees our wants and needs. He makes certain our needs are met but our wants are not items we absolutely can live without so he says "I will give it to you now" or he says "I want you to wait awhile" or he says "You cannot have this". We come into the world naked and with nothing except our umbilical cord and We should die and pass from this world the same way. In our lives after birth, our umbilical cord becomes our Spiritual attachment to Creator.

We need to realize that Creator does not give us anymore to handle than what he knows we can handle. We all are an important part of the Sacred hoop and should not let things get us upset to the point where we go back to using and abusing. Stop! Pray! Call a friend and talk before you go out and mess up. Do not be disrespectful and do the calling after you already started drugging or drinking. In AA it is this way;" God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,The courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference."

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 10
Can you remember as a child how you were afraid of the dark? The boogie man and night creatures came out and tortured children if they were not good? The story of the headless horseman and other spooky stories during Halloween time. FEAR! People apparently find it amusing to make others fear. Now that you are older you know better and can go into dark places with little fear or none. When you are in sweat lodge darkness are you afraid? Most likely not, Why is this? What causes this change of fear to fear not? It is due to the perception that we are going to a safe place to pray and sit with our Creator and ancestors.

Please help me to understand and find balance with this. Religions use fear to persuade people into believing. Parents tell their children God is going to punish you for doing that. Rocks and mountains are prime examples. They look hard and do not move much but they do contain life How else could they stick together and form the shapes they do? Atoms and micro-organisms play an important part on earth and in the heavens. Just because something does not move does not mean it is lifeless.

When we pay attention to all the things around us we can then see that our relationship to them is greater than imagined. We need to watch the animals to learn, we need to smell the wind to seek out weather, We need to watch all creatures so we can become closer to our relations instead of being so distant. When we abuse drugs or alcohol it effects our inner ability to be in relationship to our surroundings, setting us off balance. What can I do this day to remain in balance instead of being off?

Women can do what a man cannot do, a woman can give birth where a man is incapable of such. Most women have the patience to tend their children where men do not. Mothers raise the children more than the fathers do because they have more time with the children. We have lost many families to alcohol, drugs, household finances due to low paying jobs and the love and teachings are becoming lost forever. We must strive to change that and get back on the path. " It all starts with admitting you really have a problem", then there are steps to take in order to achieve serenity and sobriety. When this happens then we learn to love and respect our women, our children and our men and even our self, But until then we will continue to keep suffering. We have the power to change but do we have the Courage to do it?

The path has many logs laying across it and also streams and rivers,there are lakes and oceans so we learn to cross many of them and if we can we also learn to go around them. We must not expect others to be like us because we are not clones in the sense of robots. We have looked at many beliefs and religions trying to find our peace but we failed,then we started walking the path and began looking within ourselves and all of a sudden we see the universe open up to us. Life was a wreck until we were led to the path. We found something We were looking for many years. We finally decided to look inside our self and found that all the answers had been there all along .

In the Armed Forces they tell you to dig a hole and then when you are done they decide it was the wrong spot so they have you cover the one up and dig a new one. This makes for character adjustment and tolerance but at the time it is happening we only look at it as someone making us mad. When we learn to meld into the walk of life we can see things we did not see before. We learn to adapt but not and try to understand more efficiently. How does a butterfly start out as what we consider ugly then come forth as a beautiful flying creature? This mystery is what we humans should be learning in our lives. We all can be those Butterflies.

Man"not-so"kind learned about the powers of the earth a long time ago. Man has harnessed the plutonium and uranium for bombs of mass destruction or Murder in the name of God. The balance of this earth is equal. Good and bad are on equal basis it is how we humans choose to use the two that will determine if we survive and remain on earth or not.

When a ceremony is opened and prayers have been offered for direction, How can one say it was done wrong? If that person wrote the book of rules on ceremony then maybe it could be true. But when Creator and the directions have been asked then who are we to tell another they are wrong or criticize them for their efforts. Prayer and Spirituality does not belong to any human, It all belongs to Creator. The Sacred Ceremonies are done to aide in Healing, when the time comes forth the healing will begin. Always give Thanks to Creator no matter good or bad,because it all has purpose in the great design of life.

When we cross a state line are we able to see the lines that are shown on a map? Possibly they are invisible to the eye but are really there in some form. Humans are somewhat the same. We have boundaries and only allow certain people the experience of crossing them. Our Boundaries are not painted either but others know they are existing. So if boundaries are mini borders then what happened to our connection to Creator? Does Creator place boundaries upon us? We should learn to take the first step in dropping our boundaries then we will be able to find balance. Where are my connections and boundaries today?

When a person come to me and says they are Indian I always take them at face value. I know that eventually if they are not on the red road it will be revealed. Many like to talk how Indian they are, but few are brave enough to walk the road for a long time or life. Then there are those who are more Indian than the next person "because the government bureau of Indian affairs says so". Many walk with the blood of the Ancestors in their veins and do not even know it. Who has the right to determine who is and who is not? Only Creator has that say," not people". Do we walk the walk and talk the talk. Always pray from the heart, live your day from the heart and you will be doing well. Vary from it and you will see your day fall to pieces.

Just before dark sets in the tree frogs begin to call out in the distance, an owl hoots, or you may hear a mole digging in the surface of the ground. You can hear leaves rustle in the woods with the presence of different animals, four legged like the deer, raccoons, opossum, skunks, and if you listen closer you may be able to hear earthworms shuffling the leaves. Many sounds come forth at night because during the day everyone is hustling and bustling about to work and all other places, Then as night comes people go home to rest and the noise pollution calms down. This is our connection to our home called earth.

How can we change it if it can be changed? Legitimate questions yet they seem elementary. In the AA program they use a prayer called Serenity Prayer." God Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Our well being depends upon this. If we cannot accept things then we will surely go back to the drinking and drugs or be very unbalanced.

If we look inside of our selves and learn to accept thanks when others give it to us then we will learn to say thank you in return. Many times people have thanked me for what I do and out of self I usually reply " It was nothing I need to be thanked about". An Elder told me to stop that and to learn to accept the thanks and to continue to give the love for the people. I personally have learned that if I do what the Elder has said to do I am out of self and humbled. Always speak the truth because lying is not the true way of the people. When we open ceremonies we call upon the directions for their help and safety in what we do. We must always be careful to not offend the Spirit world because it could do us harm if not done properly. How can someone own what does not belong to them? Creator may have given man some rights but did he set out to destroy his own idea by what man has done and is doing to our earth and other human beings. People are so nasty with all their disrespect for the earth, Dumping garbage into the oceans, using the river systems for their urine and feces waste, Tossing their garbage out the window on a street or highway, tossing dirty baby diapers anywhere they please, Cutting down the air supply we rely on by destroying the forests and more. Some people just do not have any regard for their home all they seem to think about is how much money they can acquire from a business deal. "GREED has done us in". Now How do we go about changing all of this disrespect? New laws do not take care of it. If they would enforce the ones already enacted there would be no need for unjustified new laws. Can you take the money and riches to the other side after you die?

The sun is an important part of our existence, Without it our food sources could not grow, our water would not have safe bacteria, our air quality would diminish greatly due to molds and unsafe bacterias, or it would become very cold and desolate as if the earth went into hibernation. The earth definitely needs the sun to survive. Our relationship is shown by our worship to the sun and the suns relationship to us. The Sun is not Creator but Creator is a part of the Sun as with us because we all are relying on each other in the great hoop. When one falls away the hoop weakens. What am I doing to strengthen the hoop?

Think about how many people are afraid of dying. Are You? If a person walks with Creator and a good Spiritual path then the chances are the fear lessens. I remember My Grand Mother in her passing telling us about her Mother, Father and family being in the room to get her. My Mother spoke of the same and both died in a peaceful state of mind. In my days I have seen many people die and very few had trouble letting go. Some were instant death and others were drawn out episodes to prepare families for a loss. This is Creators and the Spirit Worlds way of doing things. Kind of like a work shift" When the shift is done we punch out and go home where we came from".

Many families now are of mixed blood some refer to themselves as Metis, sadly others have walked away from the heritage because of being forced to denounce their heritage for the churches,and hence many of our ways were lost. Alcohol and drug addiction took and continually takes a toll also. But if we really take a look at the seriousness of it all, We will see that we must come together to fulfill the prophecies as we have been directed. No human being has special blood above all others because everyone bleeds the same color and everyone is a child of Creator.So who is entitled to rule over any human?" NO ONE!"

As we progress in our drinking and drugging we become more insane and things we do make no sense at all. Our rational way of thinking is gone and just like a rabid animal we will tear up anything in our path. We need to come to a realization that we are with a problem and then we must take steps to solve the problem. Judges tried with jail terms, family and friends tried by ignoring us but nothing happened. We had to learn to look to a higher Spiritual plane than the one we were on. We called out to Creator and asked for help. Then we learned to re smudge ourselves daily with prayer just like new born baby learning to walk. The time had finally come for us to face reality.

When we get wood for sacred sweat lodge do we cut down new trees? I usually have friends who see tree companies cutting trees down and throw them in a dump. The friends ask for the wood and it is used for our ceremonies. Why cut a new tree when there are many available from the cuttings that Electric companies city utilities do. This is one way of helping to preserve our earth. Look at the cigarette butts along the curbing at any stop light! Look at trash along side of all the roads. Very few places have not been touched by people who toss their trash anywhere they please.The only animals that defecate in their own bed are newborns and they are supposed to be taught different as they grow. Some humans are worse than the animals.

When we open our hearts to ceremony we open our door to the universe. We are open to all knowledge and learning, all respects and disrespects, all positive and negative, and everything contributes to the powerful energy in this universe, With the most powerful of all being Creator. He sees our wants and needs. He makes certain our needs are met but our wants are not items we absolutely can live without so he says "I will give it to you now" or he says "I want you to wait awhile" or he says "You cannot have this". We come into the world naked and with nothing except our umbilical cord and We should die and pass from this world the same way. In our lives after birth, our umbilical cord becomes our Spiritual attachment to Creator.

Can you remember as a child how you were afraid of the dark? The boogie man and night creatures came out and tortured children if they were not good? The story of the headless horseman and other spooky stories during Halloween time. FEAR! People apparently find it amusing to make others fear. Now that you are older you know better and can go into dark places with little fear or none. When you are in sweat lodge darkness are you afraid? Most likely not, Why is this? What causes this change of fear to fear not? It is due to the perception that we are going to a safe place to pray and sit with our Creator and ancestors.

Women can do what a man cannot do, a woman can give birth where a man is incapable of such. Most women have the patience to tend their children where men do not. Mothers raise the children more than the fathers do because they have more time with the children. We have lost many families to alcohol, drugs, household finances due to low paying jobs and the love and teachings are becoming lost forever. We must strive to change that and get back on the path. " It all starts with admitting you really have a problem", then there are steps to take in order to achieve serenity and sobriety. When this happens then we learn to love and respect our women, our children and our men and even our self, But until then we will continue to keep suffering. We have the power to change but do we have the Courage to do it?

In the Armed Forces they tell you to dig a hole and then when you are done they decide it was the wrong spot so they have you cover the one up and dig a new one. This makes for character adjustment and tolerance but at the time it is happening we only look at it as someone making us mad. When we learn to meld into the walk of life we can see things we did not see before. We learn to adapt but not and try to understand more efficiently. How does a butterfly start out as what we consider ugly then come forth as a beautiful flying creature? This mystery is what we humans should be learning in our lives. We all can be those Butterflies.

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 21
When a ceremony is opened and prayers have been offered for direction, How can one say it was done wrong? If that person wrote the book of rules on ceremony then maybe it could be true. But when Creator and the directions have been asked then who are we to tell another they are wrong or criticize them for their efforts. Prayer and Spirituality does not belong to any human, It all belongs to Creator. The Sacred Ceremonies are done to aide in Healing, when the time comes forth the healing will begin. Always give Thanks to Creator no matter good or bad,because it all has purpose in the great design of life.

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 22
When we cross a state line are we able to see the lines that are shown on a map? Possibly they are invisible to the eye but are really there in some form. Humans are somewhat the same. We have boundaries and only allow certain people the experience of crossing them. Our Boundaries are not painted either but others know they are existing. So if boundaries are mini borders then what happened to our connection to Creator? Does Creator place boundaries upon us? We should learn to take the first step in dropping our boundaries then we will be able to find balance. Where are my connections and boundaries today?

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 23
When a person come to me and says they are Indian I always take them at face value. I know that eventually if they are not on the red road it will be revealed. Many like to talk how Indian they are, but few are brave enough to walk the road for a long time or life. Then there are those who are more Indian than the next person "because the government bureau of Indian affairs says so". Many walk with the blood of the Ancestors in their veins and do not even know it. Who has the right to determine who is and who is not? Only Creator has that say," not people". Do we walk the walk and talk the talk. Always pray from the heart, live your day from the heart and you will be doing well. Vary from it and you will see your day fall to pieces.

Thank you for showing me I should not demean another just because that person does not have some sort of club membership to be Indian. We are the people and always will be the people, Our blood lays on this land from our Ancestors. "The Vison comes forth from a thought, the thought comes forth from the vision". We percieve things in many different ways, but one we should not fluctuate from is a Creator of all things. Give the Creator what belongs to Creator and your life will excell in a Spiritual way. Fail to give and your life will not be as good as you would like it to be.

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 25
Just before dark sets in the tree frogs begin to call out in the distance, an owl hoots, or you may hear a mole digging in the surface of the ground. You can hear leaves rustle in the woods with the presence of different animals, four legged like the deer, raccoons, opossum, skunks, and if you listen closer you may be able to hear earthworms shuffling the leaves. Many sounds come forth at night because during the day everyone is hustling and bustling about to work and all other places, Then as night comes people go home to rest and the noise pollution calms down. This is our connection to our home called earth.

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 26
When we are upset about something, maybe we need to look at what we are really upset about. Is it worth being upset over? Does it take time out of our lives and family? How can we change it if it can be changed? Legitimate questions yet they seem elementary. In the AA program they use a prayer called Serenity Prayer." God Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Our well being depends upon this. If we cannot accept things then we will surely go back to the drinking and drugs or be very unbalanced.
Gitsch Manito-Creator,Wásóq-Spiritworld, When life seems unfair today please help me to accept it and look at what I can do to change part of it. I know I am not able to change all of it but I do have some control over my life and deciscions. I recognize I have no control over other people, places or things, Please help me to keep this mindset.

Often it is hard to see ahead and so we fail to remember that Creator has the last say and we are just a small part in his universe. Things happen for various reasons and it is how we either accept or not accept that effects our Spiritual well being. Today I am going to work to become more in harmony with all my surroundings.

The choices we make today determine what we are seeing tomorrow. What we say and do are also included in this deciscion process of fate and destiny. Our words must be carefully selected as to not offend others. Our actions need to be of good manners.What are we doing to not steal from our future generations? Am I so greedy and blind that I cannot see the bad things I am doing to my earth family? If I have it I share with others because I cannot take it to the grave with me because riches mean nothing on the other side.

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 29
If we look inside of our selves and learn to accept thanks when others give it to us then we will learn to say thank you in return. Many times people have thanked me for what I do and out of self I usually reply " It was nothing I need to be thanked about". An Elder told me to stop that and to learn to accept the thanks and to continue to give the love for the people. I personally have learned that if I do what the Elder has said to do I am out of self and humbled. Always speak the truth because lying is not the true way of the people. Keep your heart good and your mouth the same way.

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 30
When we open ceremonies we call upon the directions for their help and safety in what we do. We must always be careful to not offend the Spirit world because it could do us harm if not done properly. We also call upon Creator but we should not do it when it is convienient or when we are in a jam. We should call Creator daily and numerous times daily to give thanks and devotion towards his love he gives to us. This is one key of many to the gifts Creator allows us to have.

Elder's Meditation of the Day May 31
How can someone own what does not belong to them? Creator may have given man some rights but did he set out to destroy his own idea by what man has done and is doing to our earth and other human beings. People are so nasty with all their disrespect for the earth, Dumping garbage into the oceans, using the river systems for their urine and feces waste, Tossing their garbage out the window on a street or highway, tossing dirty baby diapers anywhere they please, Cutting down the air supply we rely on by destroying the forests and more. Some people just do not have any regard for their home all they seem to think about is how much money they can acquire from a business deal. "GREED has done us in". Now How do we go about changing all of this disrespect? New laws do not take care of it. If they would enforce the ones already enacted there would be no need for unjustified new laws. Can you take the money and riches to the other side after you die?
