Elder's Meditation of the Day July 1
Grandpa used to say "Under every Cedar tree is an Indian", I am not quite sure what was meant by it but a cedar does have a red heart and is used in many of our ceremonies. It makes me wonder if when a person had passed on the old ones planted a cedar in memorial tribute to the one who passed. Only Creator and Grandpa knows the secret answer to his words. My heart and mind often remember the words grandpa spoke to me and the many lessons he shared about water, animals, birds, fish, insects, earth, sky and humans. Grandpa was a wise man taught by his father and grandfather.We must continue this to keep our ways strong. This helps us to walk in a sacred way.

We must pray for Creators guidance in these matters and stop being the judge of all the Sacred events or ceremonies."Who are we to be judging anything"? We are only weak simple human beings. We must learn to be good to ourselves, this is why we rely upon Creators ways and the ancestral teachings.Many of our ceremonies help people to remain alcohol and drug free. It becomes a way of life.

If we look around we will see places where they use earth to massage a body or facial applications. The earth has many purposes, Our food comes from the earth and "everything above the earth came from under the earth". This must be why our calling is so strong to touch it. The earth has healing powers and it also carries powers of sickness so we must be careful and learn of these things or we could hurt our selves and others. We must pray to The Great Mystery for guidance in these matters and then give our thanks.

Everything we have belongs to Creator. We cannot take it with us when we pass on but some seem to hoard and show much greed. Forgiveness is a good thing but forgetting is another and it is hard to forget some things even when we forgive others or our own selves we still retain memories. We all must look into our hearts and throw away the anger and seek healing to walk in good ways. The Sacred circle of life must be respected not dictated by a so called chosen few and as the old ones used to question about how can one sell the land which does not belong to them? How can one say a ceremony belongs to them which was gifted from Creator? This is quite a contradiction isn't it? Elder's Meditation of the Day July 22
When earth is taken from one area and placed in another it is like a wheel being off balance and wobbling. Erosion counter acts the moving of earth and re-places earth where it helps to keep some sort of balance. To visualy see a part of this you can take a grapefruit or an orange and pop a piece of the peel off and paste it somewhere else on the fruit, Now visualize the fruit as the Earth and spinning in orbit this will make it off balance. There is no way the fruit can become balanced unless the peel is placed back where it came from. Our earth is not much different so we are allowing others to harm the balance.

The truth about protecting our Mother Earth is so evident yet so disregarded. A few very concerned people try to educate about the harm being done but Money and Greed have a way of making the few people look like nuts. If mankind does not say it is time to stop raping the earth it will all become desert land and void of any life existence except by adaptability and possibly reptilian. The chemicals that companies manufacture to make your lawn look so nice all have adverse effects on the earth. The chemicals were alright until they were compounded into a mix then they become volatile and deadly. Why would a lawn company place a sign on the grass no dogs cats or bare feet if it was not harmful to the body? We are poisoning our earth little by little and killing off our oxygen supply daily by cutting down acres and acres of trees just to grow cattle or to have flat land to build a house or a church.

Elder's Meditation of the Day July 29
It has been spoken that one of the shortest prayers is " Creator, Please help me." If we can honestly look at our lives and all that surrounds us we can then begin to see things we can pray about. Our prayers should not always be about self but for all others, health, welfare, and safety. When we ask for Creator to help us it is most likely when we are at wits end ready to throw in the towel. We must not allow ourselves to get to that point. We can do this by praying daily and No person should ever tell another how to pray because it is none of their business how another converses with Creator, "We all have our own path to walk". We always offer Tobacco as a way of humble offering. If you go to sweat lodge, Why do you go? Is it to criticize another persons walk or how they choose to pray? You may not realize it but Creator is watching our every move so we must walk in good ways. Telling another they spoke a neat prayer is actually judging that person so we should not do that. Tell no one how to pray, because they must do it from their hearts and they learn by example.

Elder's Meditation of the Day July 30
When a person says" bring tobacco and we can pray does not make them a Medicine Man. Truthfully the word Medicine Man is a term that does not appropriately fit the people we see walking the path. It is most likely another of the white mans labels like a peace pipe. Spiritual people do walk and are constantly being sought for one reason or another, be it good or bad! Some people have nothing better to do than to cause turmoil and play against coyote medicines to try and stop good people who are actually working for the people and not self. There are a few who want the glory but do not wish to take the walk on the path. A few have been labeled and constantly deny it. Apparently many see something good about what is done and they are honored to be able to work for Creator. Those who always have room for criticism do not have actual time to walk the path. We must pray for their sickness of the hearts and minds that they find healing.

I ask you to please help the ones who persecute me and the efforts I humbly work towards getting done. Elder's Meditation of the Day July 31
Each one of us is responsible for the next seven generations. We must make sure it is carried forth to preserve the ways just as seven generations have before we arrived here. What we need to do is get back on the path and stay there! If we stray too far as some have we will not ever return and then all the struggles of our ancestors will have been in vain and lost forever. Two words to always remember, " Commitment and Dedication" these will help us to succeed.
